Content marketing requires a toolbox with some basics. It will make your daily life as a copywriter easier and thus increase your productivity.

Objective, research, writing, planning... These are all essential steps as a content writer that require a certain rigor and organization. Did you know that there are different software to help you? But what could our web copywriters possibly need besides a computer and an internet connection?

I propose to discover which software will be useful in web writing.

🔨 Tools to boost your SEO content

  1. Google tools

We already talked about it in this article on the 9 free Google tools, but among this list, three of them can help you in your daily life as a web copywriter. Here in a few words is what these three tools can bring you.

  • Trend allows you to launch a search on any subject and follow the Search Intent throughout the year. This way you will have an idea of the "best" time to publish your articles and promote them.
  • Keyword planner is Adword's free tool, so you can use it even if you don't have a campaign running. It allows you to identify the most relevant keywords and optimize your performance.
  • Search console allows you to know the keywords that led to a click to your site/page/article. It allows you to see the average position of your URLs, the number of clicks to a specific page...
  1. Yoast SEO

Yoast SEO is a very useful Wordpress plugin in web writing. It will make your natural SEO work easier for your articles (free and paid version). Tag, meta-description, keywords, number of words in your article, repetitions... It's a real guide in writing your articles. Red, orange, green are your indicators for a simple use of the tool.

  1. Answer the public

Answerthepublic analyzes the search intent of Internet users: What (what they searched for), Where, When, How and Why and offers you the results in the form of a search cloud. This will allow you to understand what your target is looking for.

The results can be used to find article ideas, topics to discuss.

  1. Majestic

Majestic is an SEO tool that analyzes the links of a website. By analyzing your backlinks and those of your competitors you will see in real time the most performing contents. This analysis will allow you to improve your natural SEO by optimizing your anchors and links.

  1. SERP Simulator

There is a whole list but each of them offers you the possibility to improve your natural SEO. These tools thus allow you to have the right number of characters in your titles and meta description. Here are a few:

📝 Content creation support tools

  1. Synonymo

This free website allows you to find all the synonyms and antonyms for a word. Very simple and practical, it is an essential tool for a web copywriter on a daily basis. You will still have to sort a little because the words are sorted alphabetically, sometimes even with a sense a little too far away. It's up to you to make your choice.

  1. Hemingway editor

This tool checks and corrects the style and clarity of your texts. The application identifies the constructions and style of your pages according to the grammar and conjugation rules it knows. It thus contributes to the good quality of your text. You also have the possibility to determine the frequency of a keyword to optimize your text for search engines as much as possible.

  1. LanguageTool

Check the spelling and grammar of your texts in a few clicks thanks to this tool. There are many others but often they only check the spelling and sometimes in an approximate way. This one is rather good.

  1. Word2cleanhtml

In web writing, if you first work on word or any other word processing software, you will need to clean your text before inserting it on the backoffice of your site. The risk, if you forget to do it, is to end up with a very complex code, which could ruin your SEO.

This tool will therefore clean and convert your content into clean HTML. Be careful though about the shells that could slip in.

The notepad tool on your computer also allows you to remove all formatting.

📷 Tools to illustrate your content

  1. Adobe Stock

Adobe stock is a bank of images, photos, illustrations, vectors, videos, templates... This tool is paid but you can test it with 10 free downloads. The little extra: you can download a preview before buying to test your image live before. If you already use the adobe suite, you should have offers.

  1. Shutterstock

Shutterstock also offers vectors, illustrations, photos, videos and even royalty-free music. Once purchased, the photos are royalty-free like on adobe stock, while respecting the conditions of use stipulated below the file.

  1. Pixabay

Pixabay is a 3rd site for sharing royalty-free images but this one is free. We are more limited in our searches and we don't necessarily find everything we are looking for but it's a very good base to start.

Paid or free, you will find a whole bunch of other sites of this type to have quality images.

  1. Canva

Canva is a graphic design platform that allows you to easily create posters, presentations, visual content for your social networks... There is a free version and a paid version.

  1. Compressor

Compressor allows you, as its name suggests, to compress your files/images without any hassle to have an optimal site and navigation. There is nothing more annoying when consulting a site than an image that takes time to load and crashes everything.

⏱ Tools to organize, schedule and broadcast

  1. Trello

Trello is a great tool that allows you to organize your work alone or in a team. The boards, lists and cards allow teams to organize projects and define their priority order in a flexible and fun way. This software offers incredible flexibility, which allows for a worthy organization and remote work.

  1. GoogleSheet

Google and its spreadsheet will allow you to create various tables to share with your teams or collaborators. You can thus propose your content calendar in a simple and free way. Be careful though about the lack of flexibility, you will quickly be limited in your tasks.

  1. Hootsuite

Managing your social networks can quickly become time-consuming. With this application, you can plan and schedule posts from your different networks on a single platform quickly and easily. Thanks to the agenda, you will have visibility on the current posts.

Hootsuite takes the form of a dashboard and integrates the feeds of different social networks. However, you will need to subscribe to access the services.

  1. Sendinblue

This tool is a must in the management and sending of your E-mailing and newsletter campaigns. Prepare, design, schedule and send an email to your customers easily. You have a free version and a paid version, to see according to your needs and the number of contacts you have.

  1. Bitly

If you need to shorten your URLs, especially for sharing on your social networks or for discreetly inserting tracking, this tool is for you.

Conclusion

There are a multitude of software that will make your daily life as a web copywriter easier, depending on your needs. Creating and writing quality web content will be (almost) child's play. Now it's up to you to test and find those that will become indispensable in your toolbox.
